Everybody looks forward to a comfortable retirement. Those are the years when one can finally relax and concentrate on those hobbies and activities for which there never seemed time before. A comfortable retirement requires careful planning, however. Millions of people suffer through their pension years because they simply did not plan and save. To retire in Florida is a life long dream of many couples.

There are many very good reason why this state is so attractive as a retirement destination. Of course, the weather is good all year round, even though it can get very hot in summer. There are numerous sites of astounding natural beauty, superb beaches and world class amenities. There are numerous retirement villages, allowing newcomers to quickly find suitable friends of their own age and with their specific interests.

One of the major reasons why older people flock to the Sunshine State for their retirement is the taxation policies of the state. There is no tax on personal income. This means that pensioners can rest assured that their entire incomes will remain intact for their personal use. Also, there are no death or estate taxes. For older people this means that their loved ones will inherit more and that they will not have to deal with complicated probate procedures.

A Florida retirement also means that the primary home of all citizens, including pensioners is safe from creditors and any other lien holders, regardless of the financial situation of the home owner. This is a great comfort to many people that experience financial difficulties and that are vulnerable to fluctuations in the financial markets.

There are certainly many reasons for retiring in Florida.
