Costa Rica Beach Resorts For Your Next Vacation

By Jennifer Fisher

Everyone loves taking time off of work, even if you are going to stay home. It is all the more enjoyable, though, if you have a vacation away from home planned. Costa Rica beach resorts provide you with a place to go where the temperature is never too hot or cold, and the pristine beaches and local culture are worth traveling for.

This beautiful country is surrounded by water on both sides, giving you the chance to choose from the Caribbean or Pacific ocean. It is in Central America in a location that allows the temperature to stay in the 80s most months, with lows in the 60s, even in winter months, making it great for people wanting to get away from the snow.

You can make up a list of amenities you may desire in a resort vacation, and there is likely a place in Costa Rica that has all of them, and then some. At the top of a lot of lists is a swimming pool, for days when you do not want to deal with sand. While pretty much all hotels and resorts in the country have public pools, a few may offer smaller, private plunge pools in their larger rooms for guests that would like to cool off in the privacy of their room.

Many people like to kick back and relax with a nice tropical drink or other spirits when on vacation. Your chosen resort will likely have several bars or lounges to choose from, both indoors and outdoors. There are also nonalcoholic drinks for kids or those who don't imbibe.

When you are hungry, you will likely have multiple choices regarding where to eat. Many are located on the property and are owned by the resort or hotel. Some may serve food on a buffet so you can eat all you can, while others have traditional sit down service instead.

While there may be multiple swimming pools on the property, there is also the ocean nearby. In some cases, it is just a hope skip and a jump away from your room. Many places offer free lounge chairs right on the sand, and possibly even a towel service so you always have a fresh, dry one on hand. Some even allow you to order drinks and food on the sand. They might even have private cabanas for families and groups.

The beach is not the only fun thing you can do when vacationing in this Central American paradise, though. Check out the local wildlife, especially the colorful and exotic bird population and the cute howler monkeys. Sightseeing tours that include historical areas and shopping are great for souvenir hunters. Go alone, or take a guided tour that can usually be arranged with your hotel, though an additional fee may apply for offsite excursions.

Upon your return from whatever activities you are doing that day, you can look forward to relaxing in your well appointed room. Most have a patio or balcony to enjoy. Some even offer villas with small back yards and fences for larger groups to give you privacy and a vacation experience you will not soon forget.
