Guidelines In Staying In A Bed And Breakfast

By Annabelle Holman

It is very exciting to travel to tourist destinations. Before embarking on this journey, tourists should consider and think about where to spend the night when they are already there. They should also think where to get food to eat.

Most travelers who have extra money to spend will typically be making reservations for a room in a hotel. However, for most of those visitors who are on a tight budget, they might consider staying in Stone Ridge Bed and Breakfast. Usually, this type of lodging is significantly cheaper than most hotels. Both lodgings and one meal already comprise the daily room rate. No other meals will be served, though.

For arguments to be prevented, the tourist should be able to have a clear understanding of the rules of the inn, the room prices, and the scheme for making payments. He should also read the house regulations. He can definitely ask the owner several questions he might have regarding the house rules.

To avoid paying cancellation fees, he has to take note of the cancellation process in case he needs to cancel his reservation. If he is traveling with a pet, he should inquire if pets are allowed to stay inside or not. If he is a smoker, most lodgings have a no smoking policy so he may have to smoke in designated areas.

Once reservations are made, arrival of the tourist on time is usually assumed by the owner. If the tourist encounter any trouble that will delay his arrival, he should call the host to notify him of the delay. Instead of waiting at the reception area, the host will have time to entertain other guests and do several preparations.

During his stay, the tourist should respect the privacy and rights of the host as well as his fellow guests. Loud music is not appreciated at these places and he may need to lower the volume down. Aside from that, he should not stay in the bathroom for a long time as other guests may need to use it. He should make sure that the bathroom is clean before leaving.

Since bed and breakfasts have a specified time frame for morning meals, he should be able to eat his meal within the said duration. It would be respectful to inform the host on time if the guest is not comfortable with the allotted time. A certain agreement may be reached between the visitor and the host.

If appliances are not functioning properly and amenities are not working, as well, he needs to communicate the matter to the host. It would be respectful if he can do this first thing in the morning and not when the owner and the guests are sleeping. This action is reasonable if there is an emergency.

When leaving, he should refrain from reorganizing the furniture. He should leave them as is. He should also refrain from bringing objects that are owned by the host. Aside from that, a thankful remark can also be given to the innkeeper.
