Dirt track racing is a kind of auto race usually competed on a dirt or clay tracks. It started in the United States prior to World War I and became popular on the 20s and the 30s. There are two common types of cars used in it. The first one is open wheel racers and stock cars.

For the open ones, they are perfectly built for the race competition itself. The first one which is stock is a little bit exciting to look at especially with its modification. This car is a conventional vehicle and greatly modified to be used the competition itself. This cars even though different can be used in any type of racing but as for dirt track modified racing, the vehicle used should be somewhat modified and that is why the stock one is preferable.

It was estimated that US alone has local and regional racetracks that are abundant which range as high as one thousand five hundred. This is not only popular in US but also to some other countries such as Australia, Canada and the UK. This sport is getting more popular and is spreading throughout the world in lightning fast.

Now let us talk about stock vehicles and its general attributes. This sort of vehicles has modified wheels in the rear part. The body is usually fender covered but this is not always the case because some version has this exposed wheel in the front.

The fendered model vehicles are commonly used in dirt track races as well as asphalt. Due to the modifications, they tend to be more multi purpose type of automobiles. They can race on whatever terrain and has the capability to withstand high pressured environments.

Since we are talking about modifications, the famous alteration for most race vehicles is the added spoiler. By doing so, the car is more stable and stumbling is not a hindrance anymore. It provides a downward force to maintain the body balance while speeding up.

Speaking of beginner, you have to make sure that you have the proper equipments before you go ahead and start racing as your hobby. Typically, the suit they use are specialized to provide both comfort and safety. It is usually tightly fit with padding at the leg and the chest.

In dirt events, the primary material used is clay instead of putting too much soil. This is because dust are not that stable which makes it more dangerous. As for clay, it is strong enough to hold too much brakes and turns. This always safer than some others materials but pure dust can also be used in highly competitive events.

Depending on what type of racing you would like to do, it is very important that you are safe. Always make sure that you have the correct gear appropriate for the event to avoid unwanted circumstances.
